Listen To Your Pillow
When working towards the achievement of a goodnights sleep you are not only dependant on the bed and your mattress but also on your pillow. It does not in anyway imply that a luxurious and classy pillow that is going to be highly priced is the answer.
The basic aim of a good pillow should be focused on getting one that gives support and natural elevation to the head in accordance with your shoulders position. Special care is taken to avoid an unnatural angle of the shoulders. But then again it should not be very feathery or large, that it would have the head elevated at a strange angle opposite to the body. An easier method is that fold your pillow in the middle, if it folds easily then it is probably time to get rid of it.
One of the other reasons is that many older pillows contain certain bacteria and dust mites that are harmful to us. They are commonly present in the pillows that are made up of wool and feathers. Latex cushions are also not a very good idea. An appropriate method of killing them would be to cover the old cushion with some kind of plastic and place it in a freezer.
The average life period of a pillow ranges from almost five to eight years. The life of the respective cushions depends on the material that is used for the making of the pillows. All the different types have varying for and against factors. The medical practitioners mostly recommend the usage of a fluffy feathery pillow that would aid in the attainment of a good nights sleep. But if an individual prefers foam then in that case one that is comparatively harder and does not have any breakdowns should be given. But a drawback to them is that their users have complained often that their head feels hot.
Basically your category of sleep is the main determinant of the suitability of a cushion or a pillow. Sleeping on the stomach can trigger many problems for the back and the neck and it is strongly advised against by the medical practitioners. Other than that individuals who sleep on the side should opt for a medium pillow in order to provide proper support and alignment to the neck.
