The Benefits Of The Cognitive Behavior Methods
I have been cursed with the ill of chronic insomnia for almost a decade now. In fact suffer is a small term. This unrelenting ailment has had a catastrophic consequence on almost all aspects of my life. In the current times life is already tough, but for me it got tougher with the burden of sleepless nights daily on my head.
For those of us who are safe from this ailment, first let me define what it is. The curse called as the chronic insomnia is an ailment that involves the inability to fall and stay asleep. This condition can at times persist for temporary time period, whereas for the more unfortunate ones it can last an entire lifetime. The later type is known as hyper insomnia. It basically evolves from temporary insomnia. Many times the cause behind it is the negativity of the individual in addition to unsupported behavior that are the main triggers.
My journey towards healing began when the realization struck that it depends on my approach towards it. It meant I had to be less emotional than before for coping with it and for negating any further complexities that may arise due to my disturbing behavior. It required for me to be more logical towards my sleep pattern and developing a methodical approach.
This is when I came across cognitive and behavioral based solutions. The former refers to the self learning process of making a rational evaluation of ones sleeping pattern. Say for instance in my case I had to work towards the eradication of thoughts regarding sleeplessness whereas the later refers to the abolition of the methods that were responsible for and that invigorated this condition. For example for me it meant to force my mind to believe that it was not tired to perform various tasks that I might have been putting off earlier owing to lethargy.
This helped me to achieve an improved sleep. Further it also aided me to believe that I was following a regular pattern like a normal human being and not like one who is suffering from some kind of chronic sickness. This in turn helped in the reduction of stress regarding my sleep pattern.
Yes I do believe that this is a serious ailment and is hard to defeat but you have to have strength and not lose hope. Only you can help yourself, as I did.
